“Don’t leave Laurent… it’s midnight. Just go tomorrow,” a girl who was wearing a princess -like nightgown muttered as she grabbed the strong arm of a man. The man didn’t turn, he was looking out of the window of the room where they were staying.
“I need to leave now. I’ll come tomorrow to see you. Until then take care and don’t leave this room. You already know what’s happening outside of the castle.”
“Take care. I love you.” His voice was filled with seriousness as he said that. She let out a deep sigh and watched him as he turned to her and kissed her forehead.
Corvina’s eyes snapped open with the same dream she was seeing every night. Sitting up on the bed, she placed her hand against her chest as she listened to her ridiculously beating heart. It was the same dream, every night, over six months. Even though she had this dream for over six months, she never saw the man’s face because every time he turned and kissed the girl’s forehead, she woke up from her dream.
Both the man and the girl looked like they were from the ancient time, their clothes and everything. She could tell that the man was handsome and young from the way she saw him but what an unfortunate thing, she never got a chance to see his face in her dreams. Letting out a deep sigh, Corvina got up from the bed and walked towards the dressing table before looking at herself through the mirror.
This has been happening to her ever since she became eighteen years old. Her birthday night was the first day she saw this dream. She was curious, she wanted to know but she didn’t have the courage to tell her step mother about this. Gazing at herself through the mirror for a while, she touched her long raven hair as she braided it loosely. She sighed and walked towards the window as she looked out of it.
Outside was an unexpected gift from nature. Lighting flashing across the sky made indescribable patterns on it. So beautiful. The rain drops falling down from the sky furiously. Seeing the beautiful but dangerous rainy night, her heart was suppressed by unknown feelings. Those feelings were just new to her. Hurt, sadness and betrayal, she was filled with those emotions.
“Corvina.”
Hearing her step mother’s voice, she gasped and those unknown feelings flew away from her. She immediately walked towards the door and opened it as she looked at her step mother who was looking at her with wide eyes. Corvina was confused and she didn’t know the reason behind her expression.
“Your father’s pressure tablets are not here. I can’t find them. You should go and buy them now.” Corvina was taken back hearing her. She did nothing but look at the time as she saw it was almost eleven-thirty at night.
She didn’t want to go out, it was raining so badly and it was almost midnight. She was scared to go alone, she bit her lower lip helplessly and looked at her step mother’s face before nodding at her. Even though she didn’t want to leave, she had to go because it was her father and her father needed those tablets so badly.
“Hurry up, wear something and come.” With that, her stepmother walked away.
She entered the room again and grabbed a short denim skirt randomly along with a cami cardigan set. Changing into the clothes, she wore sandals before hurrying out of the room and to downstairs. Taking money from her stepmother, she grabbed an umbrella before going out of the house.
As she came out of the house, chilly wind ruthlessly kissed her skin as she hugged herself and hurried her steps wanting to go to the supermarket. The rain was so heavy and so dangerous but she had to ignore everything and run towards the supermarket.
“I need Benazepril,” Corvina said impatiently as she looked at the pharmacist in the supermarket. The pharmacist gazed at her for a while and looked at the piece of paper in her hand which was confirmed by a doctor before nodding at her and giving her what she needed.
