May Beckett ‘s POV
“Tie him up!”
This is the last thing I heard before the chaos took over the entire crowd.
I take a deep breath and burst in tears but at the same time I hear dad using our mindlink.
“Stay hide, May. Don’t let him take you!”
“But dad” and I look at my trembling hands while I stay with his head down , kneeling at the ground with the rest of the crowd. ”He will take revenge on you.”
I feel tears running on my cheeks. I can’t help him without revealing my identity, and all my father’s efforts to protect me will be for nothing.
“Dad! I can’t let you hurt you!” I cried in my mind but just before to hear him saying something else, my fucking groom-to-be hits him in his stomach and makes him yell in pain.
“I need to help him” I said to myself and I want to stand up and go in front of this horrible wedding venue and kill that bastard, but my father mindlinkds me and stops me.
“You will all die if you don’t stay down. Even our pack members,” he said and made me stay still. But I can’t stay still, for the goddess sake! I can’t stay there and see how my only relative is suffering.
“May..” my father whispered, “he will kill me anyway and after he will find you and take what he needs to become the new king , he will kill you too. He is a monster! I command you to not intervene in this!”
And I swear to you that he broke my hard doing this, because I can’t oppose his alpha command.
“Look at him!” Dante Reyes commanded and all of us looked at my father, the alpha of the Crescent Moon Pack. He is staying in the wedding venue, right at the aisle where I should have been staying if my wedding with this monster would have taken place.
My father understood me. I can’t marry him. He is not my fated mate. He is not even my chosen mate. He is just the second son of our King of all Alphas, and just because of that he thinks that he has the right to take everything he wants.
No surprise! He can’t have me! My father let him think until the last minute that I would be his, but in the end he helped me run and hide in the crowd. The jerk didn’t even know how I look. He wants me only to serve his goal.
“Look at this fucking traitor alpha!” he yelled and pushed my father in his knees and the whole crowd gasped at the scene before their eyes.
“I came here looking for peace, and I was driven only by my best intentions and what have I found here?” and he hits my father again, this time in his face.
“Stay still, May” he whispers. “This will end soon” and I see him looking in my eyes, and trying to assure me that everything will be fine.
And right when I thought that things can’t go worse, Dante Reyes says.
“You alpha committed an unforgivable sin! He stood up against a royal family member and more than this” and he started to walk as if he is the lord of the world and with a demonic smirk on his face he said.
“Alpha Matt Beckett tried to kill me. Only the fact that I am who I am , and I have a really good intuition helped me to discover his plan at times. Your fucking alpha tried to kill me! Me!” he growled, making the whole crowd shiver in panic.
“Let him speak !” My father mindlinked everyone. “Protect yourself no matter what and protect my daughter!” He commanded all of our pack members.
“But i am not a tyrant” Dante Reyes said as if he is trying to convince us that what we see is not real.
“I will give him the chance to have a trial. Here. Right now in front of all of you and if he is found guilty he will be punished according to his quilt!”
“Please, Prince Reyes!” our beta said not able to keep his mouth closed anymore. “He didn’t do anything wrong for the goddess' sake!” but he doesn’t have the time to finish what he was saying and he falls to the ground dead.
“He was his ally!” Dante Reyes said. “And now that fucking beta was implying that I am lying?” and he spits on his dead body.
“Those two,” he said, pointing between our former beta and my dad, “ they tried to kill me on my wedding day. On the happiest day of my life! When I should have finally been with my chosen mate. This marriage should have been a good opportunity for you. This marriage would have brought the royalty in the middle of your fucking pathetic pack, and yet what did he choose to do?”
“To hide my bride? He put his beta to poison me!”
But we all know that this is a lie. The only pathetic being is this so-called prince. This monster who will never be able to be a king without doing a lot of very precise dirty moves.
“Alpha Beckett, how do you respond to the accusations that you were responsible for my murder attempt?” And he is looking arrogantly at my father.
“Please, dad! Let me show up. I can’t lose you too” I cry , and I am not able to look at him anymore, my heart is bleeding seeing him so hurt.
