Chapter 1

Kendrick Riggs’s POV

.

“Stop it, man!” Brad says , laughing as a stupid and mocking me. “Stop being a pussy.. That girl loves you and she would be thrilled to be your mate when she finds out about what you are.” and he passes me by and grabs the little velvet box that I placed on my desk.

“And even she will not be, with this” and he opens the velvet box, revealing the ring I bought, ”With this any woman in her mind would say yes!” and he starts to laugh.

“I would say yes too, you know?” James, my future gamma tells me “But I am not your mate, so… I am just a poor guy, I am losing here.”

I stare at them in disbelief. Are those two stupids really my future camarades in this life? My future beta and gamma? We’ve been friends since…since forever actually. They know me and they know how important is this for me, so why the hell are they mocking me at such an important moment?

“You know what?” I say and I grab the ring from Brad’s hands.

“You know that this is not as simple as it looks, so give me space, would you?” and I start to walk outside my packhouse.

It’s my packhouse because I am Kendrick Riggs, future Alpha of Crescent Moon Pack. I am nineteen years old and a year ago I found my mate. We’ve been in love since then and she is the embodiment of perfection. She is the best thing I found in this life and I have no idea what good I did to receive her as my mate.

We are classmates. Yeah you heard it well. Classmates. She is not one of my pack members and she…she is not even a werewolf. I always found her attractive and interesting, with her lonely spirit and shyness. She is different from all the humans I know and at the beginning I thought that was just pure attraction being around her, until I turned eighteen and all I could hear was Hades , my wolf, screaming loudly that she is our mate.

I should have known about it.Sincer the first time I saw her, in the first year, I couldn’t take my eyes off her.

It was damned hard to approach her, because she was always scared and alert. Like a lamb ready to be slaughtered. But I did it, and here I am today on her nineteenth birthday, ready to reveal my real nature and ask her to be my mate.

I imagined this moment the whole year. I prepared her for this, bringing her here,in my pack, meeting my parents, so she won’t be shocked and remember that we are not animals but humans too. I really wanted for her to see me just as I am , in my natural habit. When she was here none of the members of my pack were allowed to transform. She needs to know that I am a werewolf , but I will tell her everything in my own way, I will guide her every single step in this unreal world.

It was a long way to come here but it was worth it. At the end of the day all I can hope is to have her in my arms as my mate and fiance.

“So?” Brad asks running after me and jumping in my car as I just want to start the engine but he is so damned annoying! Why does he keep stopping me and asking me questions? He has been mocking me since I brought the ring.

“Would you give me space, man?” and I give him a growl.

“No.” And he makes himself comfortable and just when I want to start , the back door of my Lamborghini opens and James jumps in.

“I want to watch it too!” he says.

“Get out!” I growl at them, but these scoundrels ignore me.

“No. I want to watch the moment Jane will faint hearing that you are a werewolf.” Brad mocks me again and I just realize that I am losing my time with these two jerks.

“Just don’t show up and ruin my moment, would you?” I say and I'm putting the pedal to the floor.

“To the Anacortes High School!” James yells from the back seat, but I ignore him this time for good and he may feel that because he calms down and says.

“I know that is the last day of highschool , man, and that you can’t ruin this opportunity, “ What the hell is he talking about ?

“But just in case, if she says no, or dies in panic seeing your claws, you still have us” and with that Hades mindlinks them and using his Alpha command he says:

“Just shut the fuck up!”

Nothing will go wrong.

I park my car and as I get out of my car I sniff the air trying to find my mate. I know her every single move. I don’t even need to see her and I already know where to find her.
