I watched in dismay the terrifying sight before me.

This weird looking creature,how it got into my house was what I seemed not to understand.

I had just gotten home from work that night.The atmosphere was kind of eerie and the whole living room was dark.Only the rays of light from full moon up in the sky lightened up the room a bit.This was very strange because on normal nights like this,my darlimg wife Patricia would be siting beautifully in the living room,gently rocking our two months old baby to sleep.

This was a sight I realy loved and enjoyed seeing as it brought so much joy to my heart.Sometimes,she would be asleep already.I would then tiptoe to where she was and then wakw her up by placing a kiss on her forehead.

“Hey babe,you are back” she would always say.

“Yeah honey,sorry for keeping you waiting” I would reply,placing another gentle kiss on her lips .

My family had always been fun,peaceful and lovely and the arrival of sophie our little baby girl brought more joy into the house.

I could remember the day she broke the news to me.

“Babe!” Patricia called out happily. “Babe!” she called out again.

“Yeah Honey,what’s it ?”

“Guess what?” she asked obviously blushing

“Ummm,I don’t know and you know”

“Try baby”

“Ummm…okay’,you just got promoted?” I said smiling

“Ummm,,you really are bad at guessing” she pouted

“What’s it then,tell me” I said,tickling her a bit.

“I am pregnant babe!Pregnant!” she said,jumping into my arms with so much excitement.

“What!....Pregnant?...For me…Baby” I said all in one breath.

“Yes babe” she said drawing lines on my chest.

“This calls for celebration” I said,lifting her up by her waist.

“Careful honey,there’s a baby in there you know” she said,laughing out loud.

“So he is a boy …umm, he sure is a biy cause you weigh much more than before”

“Fortunately for me,she is a girl” she said sticking out her tong…umm, he sure is a biy cause you weigh much more than before”

“You know this is cheating,after all my hardwork ,you didn’t give me a boy” I teased

“I gave you back what you put in me silly” she said knocking my head playfully,

“Ummmm,worever but let us begin this celebration by topping it” I said sweeping her off her feet’

“I knew you would say that but I am all yours babe” she said relaxing in my arms as we headed for the room.

“So she will be sophie right?” I said licking my lips

“Look who is giving names,thought you were just sad it wasn’t a boy”

“I have always learnt to adapt” I laughed

“You ought not to” she laughed and continued “by the way,I think Dora is far better thsn sophie”

“no,sophie”

“Dora”

“Sophie”

We continued laughing and arguing until we got into the room.

My joy knew no bounds when her belly began to protrude . I would kneel before her baby bump every morning kiss the baby bump which would sometimes send the baby kicking.

“She loves her dad” patricua would always say.
