Kiara POV
The night is glowing, the stars are dancing, my heart is racing and I couldn't be happier than I am right now.
Well, I will be after Logan proposes.
Tonight at his crowning ceremony, he'll officially become the Alpha of the Stormsword pack.
And I'll finally become one with him, Logan Stormsword, alpha heir of the Stormsword pack and my childhood friend, the boy who had promised my father he would protect me all my life.
It's been five years now since Logan made that promise to my father before he died, and I was promised to him, and in all the years, he had shown me care and love.
I still remember the first time he called me his. I was sixteen, trembling after a nightmare, and he held me against his chest and said, “No one will ever hurt you, Kiara, not while I breathe.” My heart has been his ever since.
I didn't think twice when I needed to save him with my body. The injury had scared me and added an enormous amount of weight on my body I can't seem to lose.
But I'd do it again, a thousand times again. Because he's alive and he's mine, the only one who didn't judge me for being an Omega who can't feel her wolf.
I stared at the stars that shone brightly, and I could feel the moon goddess's love washing over me.
“Yes,” I muttered softly as I exhaled. Tonight I was certainly going to be joined together with Logan, my mate; I could feel it in my soul.
More like I overheard him whispering three days ago to some maids about the type of rings I love to wear, and he had been asking lots of cute questions.
What's my favourite colour? What style of fashion and flowers do I like? Of course he was planning on proposing tonight.
I couldn't help but fall back into my bed and squirm as the thought of being in bed with him came rushing into my mind.
“Knock! Knock!”
A loud knock on the door dragged me from my thoughts. “Yeah, who is it?”
“Miss, we are here to get you ready for tonight; it's already—”
Ding! Ding!
The house loudbell that sounds when it's about an hour to midnight rang, jolting me out of my bed in an instant.
“Ohh, no, no, I can't believe it's already so late,” I said as I opened the door, with the maids rushing in and dragging me straight to the bathroom.
“We have only an hour to get you ready for the crowning event, Miss,” the eldest said as they all undressed me and began bathing me.
They wasted no time in bathing me, and soon I was all dressed, and they left my quarters, leaving me in plain silence.
My eyes are now on the mirror, the one that reflected my sized-up weight.
It's already been two years since the incident that led to this weight gain, and the doctors had promised I would be back to normal already, but this body had other plans.
But tonight… I stood up, my eyes fixed on my reflection in the mirror as I smiled, “Tonight, he will see me, not this weight, but the true me.”
“Miss, it's time to leave!” a maid voiced out from outside.
“Okay, give me a minute.” I reached down for the secret compartment, where I had hidden the ring Father gave to me before he died. “Perfect, now I have something for Logan too.”
I wasted no time after and headed straight down, got into my ride and made my way straight to The Aubrey Hall.
A few minutes passed; I arrived and made my way out and right inside.
