[Smallville, 1989]
Winter in Smallville was always too intense, the streets were covered in snow, including the rooftops of all the cabins that were lined up side by side. Christmas was at the corner, the sound of Christmas songs played silently from each cabin giving the neighborhood a wonderful Melody.
Cars packed were covered in snow, and everyone outdoors was wearing huge cardigans and mufflers. A man in his early 30s stood in-between one of the cabins scanning the streets, his hair was blonde, shining gold. Eyes, were the color of the sky; light blue, with petite pink lips. He was wearing one of the huge cardigans, reaching his knees, with thick black snow shoes. Hands were hidden in his cardigan, as he scanned the street with his blue eyes; nothing out of the ordinary was happening, everyone was getting ready for the evening.
He reached inside his inner pockets and pulled out a packet of cigarettes, took one and lighted it up with a match he had gotten from his back Jean pocket. He sucked hungrily at the cigrates and let out the smoke from his mouth and nostrils simultaneously. Winter was the only time Danny Winter smoked, he knew the consequences of smoking and he wasn't ready to die Young, not when he had important responsibilities.
After puffing out several rounds of smoke, Danny scanned the streets one last time, he looked at the grocery store and saw the owner turning over the sign to indicate closure, his eyes shifted to one of the biggest churches in Smallville, he could see the glowing of a lamp coming from the windows, the priest must be having a night session, he thought.
After another satisfactory surveying of the area, he decided to take his leave, he threw the almost burnt out cigrate on the ground and stepped on it to quench the little fire it still had. He breathed a sigh of relief and turned to leave only to be stopped by a lady's scream.
Danny quickly turned, his eyes scanning the whole area, as he listened to get where the scream was coming from, the screaming sounded again, it was from the grocery store, the hair on Danny's body rose up, he doesn't have to transform except if the threat was beyond his physical strength. He sprinted to the grocery store, stumbling because of the amount of snow on the ground.
"Just give me all the money in your fucking drawer," someone yelled from inside. Danny was ducking outside the grocery store, taking extra caution so the robber won't discover his presence and take the woman hostage. Surprisenly, another voice spoke, it was a female voice.
"Do not shoot her, she'll do has you've said" the voice sounded pretty confident and comfortable. Whoever spoke those words, wasn't afraid of the robber, Danny thought.
"Get me the fucking cash, ain't got time to waste," the robber yelled again, switching the pointed gun from the lady on the counter desk to the one who stood on one of the shopping rolls.
"Yes sir, I'm packing it all" the lady at the counter replied with tears dripping from her eyes, she was loading the cash into a leather bag which the robber had given her.
Danny waited, he'd get the robber when he wanted to escape through the door, what he couldn't understand was how the other lady got in, when the store had already put up the closeup sign. Maybe she needed something important, Christmas was at the corner anyways.
Danny was still squatting were he was, breathing white colored breath which was so visible and tells you how cold the area was. He decided to steal a glance inside the store, raising his head up slowly, his eyes moved quickly, from the robber who was covered in entire black jacket that was reaching his feet just like Danny's, with a black mask to prevent people from seeing his face. He stared breifly at the lady on the counter, she was busy packing cash into a leather bag, her hands were trembling, he could sense the deal of fear in her.
Finally, his eyes shifted to the lady that spoke earlier, she was looking so white like someone who had a skin problem, but she was outstandingly beautiful, her thick black long hair enhanced the brightness of her white skin, her pupils matched the black hair she had, her lips was full and very red like she had added a lipstick to it which she didn't. She was wearing a huge blue sweaters with a white muffler around her neck. The blue tight jeans she wore was glued to her body bringing out the shape in her hips and ass. Danny brought his head down when he saw that she wanted to look backwards.
He didn't get why he was admiring a girl in the middle of a robbery, he chuckled to himself, not like he was ever going to have anything to do with her.
"Now give me the bag and face the wall," the robber declared, collecting the bag from the lady on the counter. Danny stayed put, he knew the robber would come out anytime soon, he realized the street had gotten queit, and it was getting dark already, if he wasn't there at this time, it would have been a lucky day for the robber.
The robber rushed to the exit, as he opened the door, he was sent flying back inside the store as Danny delivered an incredible uppercut at his jaw. The lady at the counter and the lady standing in the shopping rolls were both shocked at the sudden change of event. Danny rushed to the robber as he cried in pains on the ground, he knocked him out with an heavy jab at his nape, and stood up from him.
"Don't worry, he isn't dead," Danny explained as he stared at the two women who looked so perplexed at what they were viewing.
Danny shoved his hands into his pocket and pulled out the packet of cigarettes, he took one and lighted it up, puffing out smoke in front of the surprised ladies.
"I'll leave him to you, he won't wake up for another six hours or less, call the police and have him arrested." Danny said and took another drag from his cigarettes.
"Do have a goodnight," he said admidst the smoke that came out of his mouth, he turned to leave, reaching for the door knob, the white lady's voice stopped him from taking another step further.
"Thank you, you're a brave and good man."
Danny had heard that dozens of times, protecting Smallville was his responsibility even though other Packs didn't really like the idea.
"I'm Tatiana Taylor, thank you for saving this woman tonight," the white lady continued as she gathered what she bought into a white leather bag.
"Danny Winter," Danny replied without looking back, the sound of his voice was almost a whisper, he left the store immediately not wanting to prolong the conversation.
